A HOMAGE TO THEIR COLLECTIVE UNCONSCIOUS

An exploration of children’s imagination and children’s play time specifically through research of the  stages of drawing. 
This work is based around the game of the exquisite corpse. 
This is a game that creates a combination of creatures, animals and humans into one body to create a nonexistent creature. By passing a shared piece of paper around the group each individual adds to the same drawing to make something new. 
In creating my work I led a group of children in playing the game. They took turns in collectively creating unknown creatures. From these drawings I used different components to create this figure. The work acts as a homage to children imagination and an appreciation for importance of art acting as an important platform for children mental and social development.
